NJ Pickleball Hotspot to Lose Their Courts…

Hoboken, NJ, a pickleball hub is losing its courts for 2-3 years, what (or who) will help replace them?

One of the most energy-filled pickleball hubs in New Jersey is Hoboken, a busy and popular city packed with young adults in their 20s and 30s (and residents of all ages), and sits on the Hudson River, staring right at Manhattan. Hoboken has a thriving pickleball community, and a set of 6 bright blue courts using temporary nets.

Based on numerous reports, Hoboken will be constructing new courts starting this September or October, a project that will take 2-3 years. This will force Hoboken’s band of beginner and advanced pickleball lovers to find places to play elsewhere…but where?

Well, we may have an inside scoop on what’s coming to Hoboken next: a project that will not only quench Hobokeners needs for pickleball, but provide a thriving home those looking for courts, coaching, and competition, in and beyond Hoboken. Stay tuned…

Tip of the Week

Two Handed Backhand Grip

If you hit a two handed backhand, make sure that your fingers are not overlapping. Many players will overlap their hands because they either can’t fit both of them on the paddle, or it feels comfortable at first. This will lead to a loss of power, control, and stability. Your hands should be touching, but not overlapping. If your paddle’s handle isn’t long enough for both your hands to fit, you can put the finger of your non dominant hand (which should be your top hand) up on the face of the paddle like a ping pong grip.

Check out this video on how to improve your two handed backhand!
