NJ Pickleball Club Opens in Hit TV Show Building
An incredible list of actors were either born or raised in New Jersey. The group includes names like Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise, John Travolta, James Gandolfini, Paul Rudd, and the most recent Oscar winner for best actor, Michael B. Jordan.
It's an embarrassment of riches, and that's not even mentioning our musician royalty, like Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, and Jon Bon Jovi. But we're not just producing the actors, we're increasingly becoming a popular location for filming TV shows and movies. One such show that is filmed right here in Jersey is Severance.
The hit Apple TV+ show is filmed, at least partially, at Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey. According to its website, Bell Works is the "reimagination of the historic Bell Labs building, and is a one-of-a-kind destination for business and culture."
Now the reason we're even talking about this, of course, is because one of the many things you can do at Bell Works is... play pickleball! The Jersey Pickleball Club opened its doors just a few months ago and has 5 indoor pickleball courts in the Bell Works building. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area.
But before we go, just a few more facts about the Bell Works building. It is considered to be a mid-century modern architectural masterpiece, which is why Architectural Digest named it the most iconic building in New Jersey, and why it is on the national registry of historic places.
As for its size, the length of the Block at Bell Works is about 3 football fields and its square footage is roughly the size of the Empire State Building!
